Participants will gain an understanding of how to help children experience the reading process before they can read and write. Awareness of print and how print works, how to help children gain control of early reading behaviors, and how to choose appropriate texts for Shared Reading.

We will highlight the updates to our curriculum, as well as any important information you would need to be successful this year during your Science time. These sessions will help you get your "SWAG on" in math and science and be ready to start the year. Participants will need their laptops to access to the curriculum.

How to compose messages in a dynamic, collaborative literacy event in which children compose and write together at points selected by the teacher for instructional value. Participants will understand the role of oral language in determining the text’s purpose, and the writing process when composing, constructing, and re-reading the details of text.
