Becoming a true PLC is a process that requires a new mindset for all stakeholders. In this session, participants will define, clarify, explore, and ignite their understandings about the Professional Learning Community at Work process. Participants will gain a powerful understanding of what it takes to move from theory to practical implementation. Outcomes Include: 1) Understanding why we do what we do, 2) Distinguishing how a PLC school differs from a traditional school, 3) Examine the three big ideas of the PLC at Work process, their connection to beliefs and practices, and what it means to commit focus on learning, to work collaboratively, 4) Examining protocols that ensure the four critical questions of a PLC and its and its processes are embedded in collaborative team processes, 5) Practice developing essential standards and student outcomes. The strategies presented can be immediately applied when participants return to their schools.
